Friends Only

As of today, October 1, 2006, my livejournal is friends only.
I welcome visitors, but I must know:
a) where I might know of you from
b) why you're adding me now

Most people who have wished to view my journal have been added to my friend's list. If you aren't sure, you should check(a good way to guess is by the number of posts you see). If you haven't been added, I don't know of you. If you would like to change that and then comment  with your information. Please note that I post in high volume. Expect between 3 and 7 posts daily under normal circumstances.

This journal is largely about growth, grief and change. It is necessarily personal, often intense and frequently intimate.
There are filters relating to sex, romance, fiction and fat-- you may inquire about these filters but I will ultimately decide who gets to read these portions of my life.

Hi there, I'd love to be added, if you're amenable. I found you through Fatshionista and I feel like I've seen your name in other communities, too.... maybe debunkingwhite and/or postqueer?

Anyways, I'd like to add you now because your recent post mentioned Tully's and my head went, "Tully's? Seattle!" and I rushed over here to discover that you do indeed live there. I do not currently, but am idly considering a move there within the next couple of years. I'd love to learn a little more about (one person's) day to day in the city. And I figure if I do move there, I will for sure want to know a fellow fat, kinky, queer femme poc!

My journal is also friends-only and I'm not a terribly frequent poster, but you may find some of it interesting.

Last.fm listed you as a neighbor this week (my username there is chr0me). I followed the link to your LJ and found that we seem to have a lot in common, and not just with music.

Hi! I found you through McSnee's lj...and I think we have a lot in common. I don't post enough now that I've had a baby, but I really think you're the bees knees. I'm gonna add you, and if you add me, too, that'd be great! Talk to you soon.

this is totally random... but i saw you on jessica eve's lj... then i saw on your user info that you have picsof stuff for sale... what size are the clothes and what size are the shoes? thankks.

The clothes range from 20 to 28. The shoes are all 12 or 12w. If you join fatshionista you can buy from there, since that is where I post my sales.

Hi--You won't know me; I'm a friend of bias cut's and I saw your post in her journal and clicked on your icon. Honestly, I just thought you were pretty. I wouldn't mind reading your journal, but I can totally see why you wouldn't want a complete stranger as an audience.

I lived in Bellevue for four months; my boy-friend and I moved there to help take care of his brother's kids. I didn't like it. But I still feel connected to it, and that probably has a lot to do with why I'm addressing a stranger, too. I'm also a part-time sex worker (add that to the list). So we have a bit in common. I should probably learn how to use the filter thing, it would save me some time.

If you want to read my journal before even thinking about letting me read yours, let me know and I'll add you. Take care--

Will you add me?
Okay, where to start? I know you from your posts in the blackfolks community (sorry, I am not up to speed with my html yet. Still learning.) I've followed your posts for a while, and I really like what you have to say and how you say it. I was interested in reading your posts because I have few LJ friends who are GLBTI people of color, and I think that you would be an excellent addition to my friends list. That's it, you can read my LJ and my posts to determine if I am acceptable. I would like to be on all your filters. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, I'm Eihana. I recently got back in the habit of reading lj-- mainly fatshionista. (First joined lj to comment on Project Runway) I enjoyed reading your comments there... I humbly request to be added as a friend.

Hey there -- I read your essay on white investment in colourism and your remyth piece about Nandi with great interest, and a feeling of home -- I'm a Canadian whose background is Indo-Trinidadian. In addition to the familiar topics, we also have some friends in common!

I'd love it if you allowed me to share your thoughts a little more, because getting to know and support and learn from my fellow chromatic peeps online has been such a blessing to me, and I'd hope to return the favour to you as well.

I'm Kat btw.
